Everything You Need to Know About Lovie Special Achievement Awards

Annually, the Lovie Awards recognises a select group of Europe’s foremost digital icons to honour with Special Achievement Awards for their exceptional use of the Internet to create ingenious work.

At the competition’s end, teams with the most finalists and wins across the categories will be recognised with distinctions: European Agency of the Year, European Publisher of the Year – and the newly added honours – Collaboration of the Year and European Brand of the Year.

They will be memorialised alongside previous Special Achievement recipients, such as DEPT (2023 European Agency of the Year), BBC Studios (2023 European Publisher of the Year) and luminaries including; Ai Weiwei, Amelia Dimoldenberg of Chicken Shop Date, Edward Enninful OBE, Stormzy, Adwoa Aboah, Björk, and many more.

What are the Awards?

Collaboration of the Year Award

For the first time, the Lovie Awards is excited to celebrate the power of collective effort in shaping impactful digital projects in Europe. Spotlighting the potential of collaboration in achieving remarkable digital outcomes, the Collaboration of the Year award will be awarded to all named collaborators.

Work must be executed by two or more partners and can be entered into any and all categories, including but not limited to ‘Best Collaboration or Partnership’ categories across media types.

Brand of the Year Award

The Lovie Awards will also recognise a brand that is pushing the boundaries of digital creativity. The Brand of the Year Award is an inaugural honour for brands creating innovative work across our categories as the inaugural Brand of the Year.

The collaboration will be determined by Collaboration of the Year will be determined via a point system established by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS). Points are awarded based on the number of Gold, Silver and Bronze Winners and Shortlisted work submitted by an organisation as well as the projects that the organisation is credited for (e.g. the work is submitted by a partner or client but the collaborating organisations are listed in the individual credits). Our Judging Academy will use the information provided in the “Parent Company” and Individual Credit fields to determine work submitted dually.

 

How are they Calculated?

Both Special Achievement honours will be determined via a point system established by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS). Points are awarded based on the number of Gold, Silver, Bronze, People’s Lovie wins and shortlisted work submitted by an organisation as well as the projects that the organisation is credited for (e.g. the work is submitted by a partner or client but the organisation (or collaborating organisations) are listed in the individual credits).

Our Judging Academy will use the information provided in the “Parent Company” and Individual Credit fields to determine work submitted dually.

Organisations in the running for theese award will be notified during our Nominee Announcement in Fall 2024. The recipient of the award will be announced along with all Winners of the 14th Annual Lovie Awards, and showcased as a Special Achievement recipient in the Lovie Winners Gallery.
