– Björk, Tweetdeck, AMV BBDO, Soleil Noir, SoundCloud, eMascaro and Nuok take the stage at first-ever Lovie Awards-

18 November, 2011, London: The second edition of Internet Week Europe was brought to a close with a grand finale: the first annual Lovie Awards Winners’ Party was suitably held on 11.11.11, announcing the Lovie special achievement award winners and celebrating the creativity of the European internet with exclusive live performances and entertainment.

The Lovie Awards Winners’ Party saw St Luke’s Hawksmoor Church in Shoreditch spectacularly illuminated and rocking to the tunes of two of the most critically acclaimed new electronic musicians in Europe; Robin Hexstatic of legendary audio-visual duo Hexstatic showcased live his ‘Solid Reel’ sequel, and more than 350 guests were treated to a special short set of live tunes from Lone, the Manchester-based producer Matt Cutler, hailed as being at the forefront of British electronic music. Meanwhile Bleep’s DJ Raj Chaudhuri, aka DJ Rags, a resident DJ on the seminal online Boiler Room streaming AV show, rounded off the evening.

The party kicked-off with Lovie winners recording videos of their acceptance speeches, their ‘Declaration of Lovie’, a uniquely brief award speech including the word “Love” as a nod to the trademark of The Webby Awards – the sister-award to the Lovies – and its famous a 5- word acceptance speech.

The Lovie Awards Winners’ Party had a surprise in store with the announcement of special achievement award winners.
