THE LOVIE AWARDS OPENS ITS 12TH ANNUAL CALL FOR ENTRIES
Now Recognizing Web3, NFts and the Metaverse
London, 2 March 2022 — The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS)—the presenting body of the international Webby Awards and its sister programme The Lovie Awards—announced today the official opening of The 12th Annual Lovie Awards Call for Entries. Creators from all across Europe can now submit their work across Websites, Advertising, Video, Apps, Mobile & Voice, Podcasts, Social and new this year: Web3, NFTs & Metaverse, at lovieawards.com.
The Lovie Awards is the only pan-European awards organization to honour the full breadth of the European Internet, accepting work across seven languages including;
The Early Deadline for submissions is Friday, 22 April 2022. Finalists will be announced in September 2022 and Winners in October 2022, followed by a celebration in November 2022.
Lovie Awards entrants compete not only to win a Lovie Award, but also The People’s Lovie Award (fan favourite). All winners deliver a signature 7 Words of Lovie Acceptance Speech to commemorate their win, following in the footsteps of last year’s winners, including Lifetime Achievement Winner ABBA – “Thank you for the award Lovies”, sung by Bjorn Special Achievement Award winners Bellingcat Founder, Eliot Higgins – and actor, writer & comedian Mawaan Rizwan – among others.
The 12th Annual Call for Entries introduces a host of new categories that will recognize new work produced across the entire digital spectrum. They include:
- A brand new suite of categories for Web3, NFTs and Metaverse, with honours for Web3/NFTs include Best Innovation or Use of Technology, Best Brand Integration and Commerce, Finance & Governance as well as Metaverse honours such as Best Immersive Experience, Entertainment, Gaming & Sport, Conference, Festival or Party, and more
- Sustainability & Environment, Best Newsletter and Best Responsive/Adaptive Design in Websites
- Expanded honours for Podcasts recognising Best Co-Hosts, Public Service & Activism and more
