London, Wednesday 14 September 2016: The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS), the organisation selecting the finalists and winners for the Lovie and Webby Awards, today announced the Finalists in Online Advertising for The 6th Annual Lovie Awards, including Volvo Trucks: Look Who’s Driving (Forsman & Bodenfors), Beats by Dr. Dre: The Game Starts Here (R/GA London) and Samsung: #BeFearless (Cheil Germany).
New for 2016, a Lovie Agency of the Year Award will be presented to the European agency that performs best across all Lovie Awards categories, which span Websites, Online Advertising, Internet Video, Social Media and Mobile Apps. Leading the group of contenders is Germany’s Cheil Germany with an impressive 8 combined Finalists and Shortlisted works, followed by Sweden’s Forsman & Bodenfors (7), DigitasLBi London (7), Paris’ FCINQ (5)
As Virtual Reality moves more into mainstream media and marketing, this year The Lovie Awards added two new categories for branded and non-branded VR work. Finalists in Branded VR include The Power of Swimming (M&C Saatchi Stockholm), Samsung: Bedtime VR Stories (UNIT9 London) and Each drop of Hennessy X.O. is an odyssey VR (DDB Paris).
Some of the most popular branded content, branded entertainment and viral marketing campaigns produced for the European market are among this year’s Finalists, including The Never Ending Story from Louis Vuitton (Publicis 133, Paris), Still The Most Shocking Second A Day (Don’t Panic), Pigeon Air Patrol (DigitasLBi) and Pridestream (N=5, Amsterdam).
As campaigns continue to move beyond a single medium, this year’s Lovie Finalists in Integrated Campaigns successfully executed across multiple media types. They include #Notcomingsoon (Fred & Farid), The Aliens (4creative) and Game Of Thrones Territory (Publicis London).
Lovie Awards judges are comprised of the European members of IADAS, representing the region’s top innovators and thinkers, including Stephen Fry, musician Imogen Heap, Iain Tait (Executive Creative Director, Wieden + Kennedy London), Jon Dranger (Head of Digital, DDB Stockholm), Mel Exon (Group CEO, The Sunshine Company), Thierry Astier (Executive Creative Director, Grey Paris), Corinne Vigreux (Co-founder, Tom Tom) and Elke Klinkhammer (Chief Creative Officer, McCann Worldgroup Germany), amongst others.
Their selection of Lovie Winners is supplemented every year by Internet enthusiasts at large who cast their votes for their favourite Finalists in the People’s Lovie Awards, open now through Thursday, 22 September at www.peopleslovie.eu.
