LONDON: The Lovie Awards are delighted to announce that award-winning comedian, writer and TV presenter Mark Dolan will return to host the fifth annual event, which takes place on Thursday 12th November 2015 at The British Film Institute, Southbank, London. Mark will take the helm of the show which celebrates Europe’s brightest creative talents in tech, and is the most prestigious honour for excellence on the European Internet.

The Lovie Awards expands on the tradition of the trademark 5-word acceptance speech of The Webby Awards – the global sister-awards to The Lovie Awards – by asking winners to deliver a “Declaration of Lovie,” a unique acceptance speech that must include the word “Love” in the language of their choice. As host, Mark will ensure that winners abide by the tradition.

With voting in The People’s Lovie Awards still open through the 8th October, the whole of the internet turns its attention to the highly anticipated announcement of all winners on Tuesday 13th October. As well as award winners in Websites, Online Advertising, Internet Video, Mobile & Apps and Social from across Europe, The Lovies also presents a number of Special Achievement Awards, which will be revealed on the 13th. 2014 Special Achievement honourees included Jamie Oliver (Person of the Year), Sigur Ròs (Artist of the Year), Dan Howell (danisnotonfire, Internet Video Person of the Year), and Sophie Wilson, inventor of the ARM Microprocessor (Lifetime Achievement).

Nicolas Roope, IADAS Jury Chairman for The Lovie Awards commented; “Much like our winners, Mark is supremely talented and it’s an honour and a privilege to welcome him back to The Lovie Awards family.”

Mark Dolan is a prolific broadcaster, comedian and writer. He has made a splash this year, acting as moderator for ‘If Katie Hopkins Ruled The World’ with the notorious columnist. Between doing stand-up and his TV appearances, Mark is currently presenting a slot on Fubar Radio. He fronted a series lampooning the world of ads, in Channel 4’s ‘Mad Bad Ad Show’. This followed three series’ of the hugely popular Channel 4 documentary series, ‘The World’s…and Me’, which featured the world’s smallest, tallest and hairiest people, as well as the most surgically enhanced woman! Mark was also the host of the iconic Channel 4 comedy show ‘Balls of Steel’, which aired on 4 Music. Mark launched both E4 and More 4 respectively as host of the comedy series ‘Show Me The Funny’ and as anchor of the late night topical talk show The Last Word. He had a successful five-year stint as host of Sky’s flagship movie show, 35mm.
