The Lovie Awards Executive Team takes Lovie Talks on the road to meet the people making the Internet all over the world. Each speaker has presented to hundreds of groups as small as 10 and as large as 200.

Emily leads the charge for The Lovie Awards, the only pan-European award for excellence on the Internet. Now in its tenth year, The Lovies recognises the best from across the region, from major advertising campaigns to net art projects.

Before The Lovies, Emily spent six years working on The Webby Awards with a particular focus on international development and the Webby Ambassador Program. Prior to Webby Media Group, Emily directed the ADC Awards program and served as Editor for three volumes of the Art Directors Annual, for which she won awards in One Show Design and The American Inhouse Design Awards.

A native of Boston, Emily lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband, two daughters, and their rescue dog named Jack. She holds a degree in English from Wesleyan University and speaks decent Italian.

David-Michel Davies is President of Webby Media Group, which owns and produces The Webby Awards, The Lovie Awards in Europe, and Netted by the Webbys.

Since taking over The Webby Awards as Executive Director in 2005, DMD and team have grown the award to be what The New York Times calls “the Internet’s highest honor.” In 2016, The Webbys received a record 12,000+ entries from more than 60 countries globally, making it the most sought-after award for digital work on the planet.

In 2008, DMD teamed up with long-time business partners – current About.com CEO Neil Vogel, Rachel Zoe President Rodger Berman, and New York City Media and Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver to co-found Internet Week New York, now a top gathering for Internet leaders. Under the Internet Week banner, DMD subsequently launched Internet Week Europe in London in 2010 and the Made in NY Digital Map (mappedinny.com) in 2012. Crain Communications acquired a majority interest in the global Internet Week properties in August of 2012.

A proud alumni of the University of Pennsylvania, DMD lives with his wife Stella Lee and sons Louis and August in Brooklyn, NY.

As Executive Director of The Webby Awards, Claire leads a team dedicated to celebrating the very best of Internet culture. Hailed by The New York Times as “the Internet’s Highest Honor,” The 20th Annual Webby Awards received over 12,000 entries from more than 60 countries around the world.

Prior to joining The Webbys, Claire was a Client Lead at one of the UK’s most celebrated interactive advertising agencies, Poke London. There she managed the strategic design and build of brand Websites and communications for The Guardian, The BBC, Skype, Orange, Topshop, and the children’s charity Barnardos. Her work at Poke includes several Webby Award winning projects.

A history graduate from Edinburgh University, Claire hails from Adelaide, South Australia. Her favourite yoga pose is shavasana.
