Alex is the Co-Founder of Demodern, an award-winning creative technology agency.
Founded in 2009, Demodern has been spearheading innovative work for international brands like Daimler, IKEA and Nike. Since then, its projects have put clients at the forefront of digital transformation. From immersive AR and VR experiences, to cutting-edge websites, mobile apps, virtual events, metaverse experiences as well as interactive installations.
He is a member of the advisory board of the NextReality e.V and also member of the digital board for FC. St. Pauli which was founded to take the football club to the next level in their digital transformation journey. He is also on several creative juries like the Art Director’s Club (ADC) or the German Digital Awards.
In 2021, he followed his passion for D&I and took over as a member of the ADC Diversity Board, a group committed to securing wider systemic change in the creative industries.
Alex is a recognized thought-leader, just as comfortable leading with his vision, as he is diving into the details of software development or experience design. He also has a passion for people and processes, especially on designing and establishing structures for a long-term culture of innovation and creativity.

What expertise are you bringing as a judge for The Lovie Awards?
My professional background and passion is design and software development. Today I work primarily as a creative consultant and strategist with a focus on creative technology. Therefore combining creative ideas with innovative technologies and design to achieve experiences that offer real added value is my passion and daily business.
What are you most looking forward to about reviewing this year’s Lovie Awards entries?
I am really curious to see what projects have been developed internationally in the area of current trend topics such as Metaverse or Web 3 as well as AR experiences and games.
What piece of creative work on the Internet has recently inspired you, and why? (A campaign, experience, film, social series, etc.)
There are several inspiring projects I recognized. Web experiences like Netflix´s The Witcher or mobile AR game experiences like Coca Cola Byte as well as metaverse experiences like Virtual Expo Dubai just to name a few.
What emerging trend or technology are you most excited about in your field of work?
I am very excited about current Web 3 or metaverse technologies. Sophisticated web based multiuser and 3d spatial experiences are almost entering every consumer area and platform.
