Interview with Made by Many

In partnership with Google, we went behind the scenes again this year with Lovie winners to learn all about the hard work, dedication, and passion that went into making their projects, and to ask what it means to each of them to be a part of the European Internet as a whole.

As part of The Lovie Letters series, we’re bringing you an interview with the team at Made by Many that created 2015 Lovie- winning connected product, Hackaball — a throwable computer that teaches children to code.

We visited Made by Many HQ in London to meet with Founding Partner William Owen, Product Designer Mike Walker, and Creative Technologist Melissa Coleman, to learn all about how, and why, creating Hackaball was filled with joy as well as surprises. Hear their about the challenge of harmonising hardware and software, plus the discovery that kids are the best product testers.
