Event 1: Why Crypto Art & NFTs Matter
16:00 BST | 15th June, 2022
RSVP
Our first event, Why Crypto Art & NFTs Matter, features an enlightening conversation hosted by Lovie Co-Chair Nicolas Roope featuring Shivani Mitra, Director of the Museum Of Crypto Art, and Straith Schreder, Executive Creative Directory of Palm NFT Studio.
As the Internet has evolved, more value has been placed upon maintaining originality and authenticity, and making certain that credit is given to those who deserve it. NFT’s, or non-fungible tokens, assure that artists are forever linked to their projects. Something that was lost during the age of the Internet. Ultimately, NFTs provide a rare opportunity to claim ownership of a digital file. But with this power comes great consideration and responsibility. Whether you love them or hate them, NFTs and crypto art are a key aspect of the new Internet.
Our first guest Shivani is the Director of Museum of Crypto Art (M○C△), a foundation that investigates NFTs and its native art movement. M○C△ builds open-source tools on Ethereum and Polygon for artistic expression and experience across spatial web.
We are also joined by Straith, the Executive Creative Director of Palm NFT Studio, a collective of technology, entertainment, cryptoart and art industry leaders. The studio provides bespoke creative services for artists and rights holders looking to establish NFT marketplaces and next-generation work on Palm.
Join us at 16:00 BST on the 15th of June to hear these experts in their field unpack the misconceptions about crypto art and NFTs, and make the case for why this work is so important.
